Amazingly underrated show might be my favorite of the run. Pay close attention to your feet while listening to the first set and watch your socks come flying off.
Hope opens and is played to perfection -- super tight played, condensed version. Sister Judy follows...two words -- god damn. God damn, god damn!! Absoluetly searing version towering above any other I've heard...one of the best moments of the show...stellar jam, plus the peak/climax back into the ladder lyrical refrain simply stunning. Bullets is next...high energy, and on point are both good descriptors here. Repeat after me this song has loads of potential. A bombastic Buddha brings the heat subsequently. It challenges any rendition Ive heard, and noteably the edrum execusion is off the chain, mane. Ill, ill penetrating beats, partner. Triumph is a champion of exploration and will probobly leave you dumb struck scratching your head...wondering is this dream or is this set really this good. Thats when Voices emerge hostilely grabbing you by the throught one last time before intermission.
While not as impressive as the first DO NOT underestimated 2nd set -- sick, sick set. 7-11 is only average, a couple of nice moments spadered throughout. King of the World on the other hand succeeds fully, and joins Rock Candy in splendid fashion. Candy is a colossus of synergy and sound. It competes with any other Ive heard. The rare and under-appreciated Halekala ensues, thus ending the set.
For the encore Astronaut patiently patents a path eventually orbiting into Hell, Run Like Hell. Two words, evil nasty. My advice -- have the lights on while listening...scary stuff. Dark and dingy, booming beats are what set 2 and the encore are about. Sick, sick stuff, and not to be missed.
In sum, a dominating demonstration in Disco Biscuit precision is what we have here folks, bang your head.
